Bird? Plane? Singapore Startup Sky Magic Wows With Drone Display

Singapore-based startup Sky Magic recently made waves in Qatar with the first live drone show to be produced there. They put up a spectacular drone display, featuring a 300-strong fleet, at Qatar’s 46th National Day Week celebrations in Katara Cultural Village.

The drone show by Sky Magic kickstarted the celebrations with a series of formations showing different symbolic images of Qatar to the tunes of traditional Arabic music. It began with a giant heart with “Qatar” in Arabic, which then transformed into an outline of Qatar. This was later followed by an image of Oryx (national animal of Qatar), a traditional wind tower and modern torch tower (symbols of prosperity).

The main highlight was a larger-than-life portrait of HH the Emir of Qatar, and a magnificent flashing Qatar flag, performed 200m above the ground and spanned 360m wide.

This drone show was made possible with Sky Magic’s in-house certifiable autopilot system and drone show technology, which allows for easy and collision-free operation of hundreds, even thousands, of drones.
