Biostar T-Force MF7050 Review

There isn’t an official embargo date as yet, but right here at VR-Zone, we bring you Nvidia’s answer to AMD’s integrated graphics solution 690G. Presenting to you the Biostar T-Force MF7050, based on Nvidia’s lastest MCP68 Chipset.

It has been about a month since we last reviewed the Biostar T-Force TA690G mainboard that’s featuring AMD’s latest RS690 Chipset with Integrated graphics. Since then, Nvidia has announced an updated IGP chipset by the name of MCP68 and MCP73 for AMD and Intel platforms respectively. We have already seen many of these boards at CeBIT, if you have been following our site closely during that period. Today, thanks to Biostar, we will be taking a look at the TF7050 mainboard featuring the MCP68 chipset.

The MC68 basically consists of the Geforce 7050 IGP and the nforce 630a chipset. The Geforce 7050 GPU is DirectX 9.0C compliant and supports SM3. At the same time, it has support for PureVideo HD H.264 Video Decoding, and manufacturers can choose to implement an onboard HDMI interface if they want to. This is a huge leap for Nvidia in terms of IGP because the MCP61 doesn’t support HDCP at all.

The Geforce 7050 GPU supports Nvidia’s Nview multi-display technology that allows users to use two displays via an analog output and another via digital output. At the same time it will also feature Nvidia’s mediashield RAID with RAID 0,1, 5, 0+1 and JBOD support on the 4 SATA ports onboard. Subsequently, Nvidia will introduce another version of MCP68 featuring the Geforce 7025 chipset with no support for Pure VIdeo HD Video Decoding functions.
