BIOSTAR has launched a new product that it claims beats both a tablet and laptop by offering a complete PC experience in a small package. Dubbed the Racing P1, the 0.29L mini-PC measures 129 x 83 x 27mm.
The BIOSTAR Racing P1 is powered by an Intel Z8350 quad-core processor with a clock speed of 1.92 GHz and a maximum TDP of just 2W, allowing the mini-PC to operate completely fanless hence delivering a completely silent operation. It also packs 64GB of internal storage, 4GB of memory, and a micro SDXC card reader.
Connectivity features include GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, 5 USB 2.0 ports, a single USB 3.0 port, an HDMI port, and a combo audio jack. The mini-PC offers support for BIOSTAR’s signature VIVID LED DJ and 5050 LED FUN modding features as well, allowing for a really personalized mini PC. The Racing P1 justifies its name with a carbon fibre design top shell and RACING logo on top.
BIOSTAR says the Racing P1 mini PC is ideal for students living in dorms as well as most households as a media PC. And at just $159.99, it is not very expensive either. Of course, you will also need to factor in the price of buying a new monitor, in case you have none handy. For someone looking at a compact mini PC in a budget, the Racing P1 definitely deserves consideration.
