Beyerdynamic Re-enters The Fray With Lagoon ANC, Copper Amiron Wireless Update

Some time has passed since the Lagoon ANC was launched, but it has finally arrived in Singapore’s shores. Combining Beyerdymanic’s proprietary MOSAYC sound personalisation technology with powerful active noise cancelling, the Lagoon ANC is the brand’s first foray into the market segment.

For an inaugural attempt, the Lagoon ANC packs with its active noise cancelling capabilities a powerful punch with its heritage sound signature that is perfectly adapted to individual hearing capabilities – in a package that Beyerdynamic considers audiophile-grade.

Combining microphones on the inside and out of the ear cups, the Beyerdynamic Lagoon ANC headphones provide hybrid cancellation that eliminates ambient sound effectively.

The MIY app allows for Mimi Defined technology to piece together the mosaic pieces of our hearing that are lost over time. This MOSAYC sound profile is stored on board to be used across all wireless audio sources.

Beyerdynamic, above all, boasts audio quality superior to fellow ANC offerings in the market with its audio heritage as part of its manufacture in Heilbronn, Germany. Wired and ANC-off performance is also touted to be nothing short of excellent, too.

Built from a high-quality spring steel shackle, the Lagoon ANC offers memory foam cushions clad in comfortable protein synthetic leather covers for a luxurious and ergonomic fit. It comes with an included compact hard case that fits a folded pair of headphones.

The Lagoon ANC provides a hardware switch to toggle between two states of active noise cancellation, or an option to turn it off completely. Beyerdynamic claims superb performance even wired and with ANC off. Image: Beyerdynamic

For superb sound quality, the Lagoon ANC supports aptX, aptX Low Latency and AAC codecs, with Qualcomm cVc technology for intelligent voice pick-up during calls.

A battery life of up to 24 hours (ANC on) and 46 hours (ANC off) ensures reliable all-day, performance with convenient charging via USB-C.

The Amiron Wireless launched last year in 2018, and Beyerdynamic has just introduced the Amiron Wireless Copper.

Apart from its beautiful colours, the copper on the new Amiron Wireless is a desirable material for audiophiles in terms of conductivity and tone. The accent ring on the outside of the ear cups exactly mirror the internal copper voice coil wire, and is complemented by soft anthracite headband and black ear pads made of Alcantara for optimal comfort.

Coming in at SGD 599, the Lagoon ANC will be available in Traveller (Black) and Explorer (Brown) finishes at Beyerdynamic retailers AV Intelligence, Challenger outlets, Musica by Challenger, Robinsons Heeren, Tangs Orchard, Stereo Electronics and online at Lazada, Headphones.sg, Shopee and Treoo.com.

Also featured is the Beyerdynamic Fox USB (SGD 299) studio condenser microphone, now available in bundles with the DT770 Pro and DT240 Pro. Image: Ian Ling

The Amiron Wireless Copper can be found at a RRP of SGD 1,299 and will be available at the same retail channels as the Lagoon ANC.
