BenQ has come up with a new monitor targeted specifically at e-Sports gaming. The monitor, carrying the model number XL2540, comes under BenQ’s ZOWIE brand, which has been dedicated to the development of eSports equipment to enable competitive gamers to play to the best of their abilities.
The 24.5-inch monitor uses a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution TN panel with a static contrast ratio of 1,000:1, 1ms (grey-to-grey) response time, 400 nits maximum brightness, and a native 240 Hz refresh rate. The high native refresh rate allows the monitor to deliver different levels of gameplay experience when the computer generates over 240 frames per second (fps). So if you plan to buy this monitor, do make sure your PC is capable of supporting such high frame rates.
The unique Shield design of the monitor is claimed to help you focus on the game. It offers adjustable angles and can even be removed, depending on your preference. Like a few other gaming monitors on the market, the XL2540 offers Black eQualizer to increase visibility in dark scenes without overexposing the bright areas. In order to switch between various display settings, the S-Switch allows for easy access without having to go through the OSD menu.
Some of the other key features include a one-finger height adjustable stand for personalized viewing angles, specially designed frame to minimize reflective screen glare, 20 levels of Color Vibrance settings, Low Blue Light feature, and a flicker-free backlight. Display connectors include a DVI-DL, 2 HDMI ports, and 2 DP ports.
