Beats Music streaming service due to arrive in a few months

Beats will launch its own music streaming service in the coming months, but can the maker of premium headsets stand on even grounds with established services like Spotify, Rdio and Deezer?  Not surprisingly, the people behind the Beats Music service believe that they can compete.

Beats Music, as it’s being called, will be a highly curated streaming service that will focus heavily on the playlists.

“We’re going to focus really heavily on playlists, because that’s how we consume music and that’s how most people consume music,” said Luke Wood, president and COO of Beats.

The new Beats music service, according to Wood, will not only be extremely competitive in the music streaming space, but that it has the potential to blossom into a new type of music service that will entice people to hop on or switch over to.

“We’re talking about real depth of personalization and knowing who I am, who you are, what we’re listening to, what we like, what we’ve listened to before and then offering up music that is highly relevant to our taste profile,” Wood elaborated on the identity of Beats Music to The Next Web.

Shopping for a music streaming service is like trying to decide which flavor of gum you want.  After chewing for a while, the gum loses its flavor.  So how long can Beats Music’s flavor stay on the taste buds of future listeners?  We’ll see soon enough.
