26 July, Singapore – Asus has announced that the new Zenphone AR will be available in Singapore from the 5th of August. Powered by Google’s Tango smartphone augmented reality technology and a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor customised for running Tango, the Zenphone AR is equipped with a number of sensors to enable high quality augmented reality and virtual reality visualisations.
As part of the launch event, Asus Mobile Singapore and BMW Asia showcased the BMW i Visualiser App (developed by Accenture) that enables potential BMW customers to visualise customising a BMW i3 or i8 to their preferences. BMW is the first automotive brand in the world to offer customers an interactive 3D augmented reality experience of their products, which enables users to not only change the interior and exterior colours, trim materials and even wheel rims to their liking but to open doors, boots and take a look on the inside.
The Asus Zenphone AR comes with a massive 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage, and will be available in Singapore from 5 August 2017 at ASUS Concept Stores, M1 Shops and online retailer Hachi.Tech. Singapore with a suggested retail price of SG$1,198 without contract.
Asus also demonstrated their new Daydream View VR headset and controller at the Zenphone AR launch event, which will be available in Singapore at a latter date.
