The Asus ZenBook 3 was perhaps one of the highlights of Computex 2016. The stunning 910g ultrabook that’s 11.9mm thin threatens to overthrow the MacBook 2016 Apple showed us just some time back.
The lightning-quick ZenBook 3 sports an Intel ® Core™ i7 processor beside 16GB worth of 2133MHz RAM as well as a 1TB PCIe ® Gen 3 x4 SSD. It even has the next generation USB Type-C port, and powerful audio system that’s fuelled by Harman Kardon.
With a stunningly high-resolution 12.5-inch display, the ZenBook 3 also sports a wide 72% NTSC color gamut and a scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 4 which was a nice finishing touch. A slim bezel.
Thanks to the uniquely slim bezel design, the device provides an 82% screen-to- body ratio for the maximum display size while minimising the actual size of the device for portability.
The Innovative Features
The ZenBook 3 is armed with a snappy fingerprint sensor that helps you unlock your computer rapidly and even has a quick-charge technology that recharges the ZenBook 3’s battery up to 60% of its capacity in just 49 minutes.
How Does it Fare Against the MacBook?
Weight & Build
The ZenBook outperforms the MacBook in sleekness and weight.
- ZenBook 3: 11.9mm / 910g
- MacBook 2016: 13mm / 970g
The MacBook has a higher display resolution than the ZenBook despite coming in at a slightly smaller screen size.
- MacBook 2016: 2,304 x 1,440 pixel / 12″
- ZenBook 3: 1,920 x 1,080 pixels / 12.5″
On paper, there is simply no way for the MacBook 2016 to compete with the ZenBook 3 when it comes to pure processing power and speed. The MacBook only has M-core processors alongside 8GB RAMs that are power-efficient with lower processing speeds. The ZenBook processor on the other hand, is an i7 processor with 16GB RAMs capable of handling heavy intensive usage.
The ZenBook 3 is the clear winner when it comes to storage size.
- ZenBook 3: 1TB SSD
- MacBook 2016: 256GB or 512GB SSD
On paper, the ZenBook 3 announced this year at Computex blasts the MacBook out of the water. However, they are still rather different ultrabooks that run on totally different OS. There isn’t a clear winner becau
