Asus launches PCE-AC88 4×4 dual-band 802.11ac AC3100 Wi-Fi PCIe adapter

Asus Singapore will be launching the PCE-AC88 dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi PCI Express (PCIe) adapter during the upcoming COMEX 2016 at S$169.

The PCE-AC88 will instantly upgrade your desktop PC to the latest ultra-fast wireless standard, with AC3100-class speeds of up to 2100Mbps on the 5GHz band and up to 1000Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. It is actually the first PCIe adapter that features a 4×4 (4 transmit, 4 receive) MIMO design that helps deliver the aforementioned blazing fast wireless speeds. This design allows the adapter to deliver superior online gaming experience with low-latency and smooth streaming. When compared to 3×3 adapters, it is claimed to be 60% faster. Of course, in order to fully appreciate the performance potential of the 4×4 MIMO technology, it is required that you have a 4×4 802.11ac router.

To improve signal reception, the adapter includes a magnetic antenna base, which also allows flexible placement of the four detachable external antennas on any suitable surface. For the best possible stability, Asus has designed a custom heatsink for the PCE-AC88, which makes sure the adapter is able to run non-stop when running bandwidth-intensive networks tasks in hot environments.
