Asus launches Designo Curve MX34VQ ultra-wide curved VA monitor

Asus today launched a new ultra-wide curved monitor with a high 1800R curvature. Dubbed the Designo Curve MX34VQ, the monitor boasts of a frameless design and offers Qi wireless charging support. It also includes two 8-watt stereo speakers with Harman Kardon audio and ASUS-exclusive SonicMaster technology.

The monitor uses a 34” SVA panel with 3440 x 1440 resolution in a 21:9 Ultra-wide aspect ratio. The panel is claimed to offer a static contrast ratio of 3000:1, 4ms response time, 300 nits maximum brightness, 178/178 degree viewing angles, 16.7 million colors, and a non-glare display surface. TUV Rheinland Certification for flicker-free and Low Blue Light technologies ensure a comfortable viewing experience, even when sitting in front of the display for long hours.

With the built-in Qi wireless charger built on to the base of the monitor, your Qi-compatible devices will automatically start charging the moment they are placed on the base. The base features built-in LEDs as well, emitting an aurora-like glow when a device is being charged.

The ASUS SplendidPlus Video Intelligence technology optimizes videos and images by enhancing the color brightness, contrast, and sharpness. Multiple modes are offered as well, including Reading, Darkroom, Scenery, Standard, Theater, sRGB, Game and Night View. Asus GamePlus hotkey provides in-game enhancements such as a crosshair overlay, onscreen timer, and a frames-per-second counter.

Connectivity options include a total of three HDMI 2.0 ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a DisplayPort 1.2 connector. The attractive stand only offers tilt adjustment, which is a bit of a disappointment. You cannot swap it either, as there are no 100 x 100mm VESA holes.
