Leading Taiwanese computer hardware and electronics company Asus has sent out invites to a Zennovation event on January 4th at CES 2017 in Las Vegas. In case you aren’t aware, Asus debuts its latest smartphones at Zennovation events. This year, it held a Zennovation event on May 30th, where it unveiled the new ZenFone 3 series smartphone lineup.
While the invite to the event does not contain any clues, we can see the Qualcomm Snapdragon logo next to the Asus logo. The presence of the Snapdragon logo has led to speculation that Asus could perhaps announce a new flagship smartphone at the event, powered by the next-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core SoC, which is going to be manufactured on an advanced 10nm process by Samsung. While we aren’t fully convinced, we cannot deny the possibility of it happening. Asus was the first to announce a Snapdragon 821-powered smartphone this year, so it could very well be possible that it will be the first with a Snapdragon 835-powered smartphone as well. In addition to a flagship smartphone, we also expect to see a few mid-range smartphones go official at the event, possibly powered by the newer Snapdragon 600 and Snapdragon 400-series processors from Qualcomm.
The Zennovation event will begin at 19:30 (GMT) on January 4th 2017 in Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017 open for public on January 3rd. Apart from Asus, we are looking forward to major announcements from many other leading tech companies from around the world.
