Asus’ gaming-centric MG28UQ 4K monitor now official

Asus has unveiled its latest monitor aimed at a gaming audience, the MG28UQ. The 28-inch monitor offers 4K resolution on a TN-film panel, with 10-bit color and a response time as low as 1ms. Maximum brightness is at 330 cd/m², and you get dynamic mega-contrast, flicker-free LED backlighting, frame-rate counter and a built-in display calibration utility. The TUV certification for low blue-light LED back-lighting means that you can use the monitor for an extended duration of time without any undue strain.

The MG28UQ offers viewing angles of 170 degrees, with connectivity in the form of one HDMI 2.0 port, two HDMI 1.4a ports, and one DisplayPort 1.2 port. You also get two USB 3.0 connectors at the back of the monitor. Asus is yet to reveal pricing or availability. As far as 4K gaming monitors go, the MG28UQ seems like a decent offering, but with the recent influx of high-resolution monitors, the pricing of the MG28UQ will determine its success.
