ASUS debuts X99M-WS Micro-ATX motherboard

ASUS today announced the launch of its X99M-WS LGA2011v3 motherboard that comes in the micro-ATX form-factor.

The product was first shown by the company at the Computex event earlier this year. It is a workstation-class motherboard and the company claims it is the most feature-rich X99-based motherboard in its category.

It offers support for Intel Core i7 “Haswell-E” and select Xeon E5 v3 series processors. The board features an 8-phase VRM for the CPU and a 2+2 phase VRM for the memory modules. A total of four DDR4 DIMM slots have been provided, with a maximum 64GB quad-channel DDR4 memory being supported.

Expansion slots on the board include three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots, and a single PCIe x1. There are also eight SATA 6 GB/s and one M.2 32GB/s slot for storage. Connectivity features include two gigabit Ethernet interfaces, 802.11 ac + Bluetooth 4.0 WLAN, two USB 3.1 ports, six USB 3.0 ports, and multiple USB 2.0/1.1 ports. Onboard audio is taken care of by ASUS CrystalSound 2.
