ASUS today announced the Republic of Gamers (ROG) Maximus VIII Hero Alpha motherboard, the world’s first motherboard to come with integrated RGB LED headers.
The LGA1151 socket motherboard is based on the latest Intel Z170 Express chipset and supports the 6th Generation Intel Core processors. With the ROG Aura 4-pin RGB strip headers and lighting control via a Windows app, you will be able to add lighting to your rig and then customize static, strobing, and pulsating effects. You can also have the colors change in time with music or indicate the current CPU temperature.
The board offers extensive gaming connectivity with 2×2 802.11ac MU-MIMO Wi-Fi, U.2 and M.2 support, and Intel-powered USB 3.1 controller. Audio is taken care of by the reinvented Supreme FX2015 with intuitive Sonic Studio II software. The board also includes Intel Gigabit Ethernet, LANGuard, and ASUS GameFirst technologies.
Other key features include six SATA 6 Gb/s ports, 10-phase CPU VRM, two PCI-E express 3.0 x16 slots, dual DDR4 3800 (OC) support, and a host of ROG exclusive features.
