ASUS Announces ROG Swift BFGD – Watch Out, TVs

Asus has launched the ROG Swift PG65UQ Big Format Gaming Display (BFGD), challenging televisions and other large format display options in the market.

Noticing that large improvements made in the past years have been confined to the realm of desktop monitors and gaming laptops, the Asus BFGD offers headline gaming features in a much larger 65-inch format.

Higher refresh rates and synchronised frame delivery, which are key to smooth gameplay visuals, are paired with a high resolution and brightness for an improved overall experience.

The ROG Swift PG65UQ (BFGD) offers a 65-inch 16:9 4K (3840 x 2160p) HDR experience at up to 144Hz overclocked, rendering sharp visuals with smooth and realistic motion. Nvidia G-Sync Ultimate brings synchronised frame rates to the next level with superior contrast levels, cinematic colours and low latency.

Full array local dimming (FALD) technology enables the BFGD to deliver very high contrast by locally dimming LED backlighting at 384 zones. LEDs can also be powered on and off independently to increase luminance for a more dramatic, contrasty and true-to-life picture quality.

The BFGD is also certified DisplayHDR 1000, dishing out 1000 nits of peak brightness in each LED zone to best represent the brightest whites.

Quantum-dot technology allows for a wide colour gamut with 95% DCI-P3 coverage, colour-calibrated at factory with Delta-E < 2.

Compatibility with the Xbox One and with variable refresh rates between 48-60Hz over HDMI, the wide viewing angles of the BFGD makes it ideal as a centrepiece for living rooms.

Ultra HD Premium certification and built-in stereo 15W speakers deliver an immersive experience with gaming content or movies. It supports a wide variety of I/O, with four HDMI 2.0, two USB 3.0 ports, along with one DisplayPort 1.4 and SPDIF interface.

This works perfectly with Asus SonicMaster technology for improved audio performance, and with an included remote control for user convenience.

The ROG Swift PG65UQ Big Format Gaming Display (BFGD) will retail at SGD 6599. Local availability is to be announced.
