ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the launch of the new Rapture GT-AC5300, its very first ROG router aimed specifically at gamers. The GT-AC5300 is powered by a 1.8 GHz 64-bit ‘PC-grade’ quad-core processor that is claimed to be more powerful than some desktop processors.
If you are an enthusiastic gamer and play games online almost every day, the GT-AC5300 is definitely the Wi-Fi router for you. The router features super-fast tri-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi, along with eight gigabit-LAN ports for wired devices and two USB 3.0 ports for high-speed access to files on USB storage. For NAS enthusiasts, the GT-AC5300 offers Link Aggregation (802.3ad) feature that lets two LAN ports to work together to achieve a blisteringly fast 2Gbps connection.
To boost your online gaming experience, the ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 offers three levels of game acceleration. Two of the router’s eight LAN ports are dedicated gaming ports that prioritize network traffic to devices connected to them. The Game Boost feature works in conjunction with the two dedicated gaming ports, prioritizing gaming traffic as well as optimizing speeds for each connected gaming devices. In addition to PCs, the Game Boost feature supports most popular game consoles as well. The third level of acceleration ensures gaming packets don’t have to travel via long and complex routes, avoiding any negative impact of game performance. The router supports Gamers Private Network as well, powered by WTFast, allowing users to set up an optimized private gaming network with reduced ping rate and packet loss for lag-free gameplay.
Singapore is the first country where the ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 will be going on sale.
