ASUS today announced its newest motherboard for the AMD AM3+ socket, the 970 Pro Gaming Aura.

The 970 Pro Gaming Aura motherboard is based on the AMD 970+SB950 chipset and brings integrated Aura RGB illumination technology. Exclusive to Asus motherboards, the Aura RGB lighting allows you choose from an endless spectrum of color combinations and a number of different fun effects such as breathing, color-strobing, and color-cycling. It can also change shades to indicate current CPU temperature or pulsate to the music you’re playing on the PC.

The other major highlight of the new board is that it is the very first AMD 970 chipset-based motherboard to receive official certification for NVIDIA SLI compatibility, allowing two-way, quad-GPU setups. In addition to NVIDIA SLI support, the board also supports AMD Crossfire X multi-way graphics technology for quad-GPU setups.

The 970 Pro Gaming is also loaded with a number of impressive ASUS exclusive features such as Sonic Radar II, SupremeFX audio, GameFirst, LANGuard, Gamer’s Guardian, and RAMCache. Other highlights include USB 3.1 ports, integrated M.2 socket with support for NVMe SSDs, Realtek ALC1150 codec, Intel Gigabit Ethernet, and a dedicated onboard water-pump header.
