Aquaman revealed in new game “Injustice: Gods Among Us”

Aquaman has been ignored, for better or worse, in any DC video games that have been released thus far. NetherRealm Studios showcased the hero-of-little-fame in the new trailer for their game Injustice: Gods Among Us. Would you play as Aquaman?

Warner Brothers Entertainment announced that Aquaman will be added to the roster in the highly anticipated game 'Injustice: Gods Among Us'. The studio in charge, NetherRealms, released a trailer specifically to announce the inclusion of Aquaman… to the raised eyebrows of many.

Only 17 characters have been revealed, including Batman, Bane, Superman, and Shazam (also known as Captian Marvel). Will that be enough to contend with other fighting games, such as Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and the most recent Mortal Kombat, which each had more than 25 characters for their releases? How many more characters will be added before the game's debut? So far, NetherRealm Studios, who also developed Mortal Kombat, and Warner Bros. haven't really hinted towards any other characters at this time.

Here is the announcement trailer for Aquaman, which shows more story-orientated content than actual game-play:

In past DC Comic content, Aquaman has been portrayed as lame and weak. In this trailer, however, Aquaman seems to rise up against his previously pitted odds… and kick some major tail. While Aquaman has never been in a game, this might be an Aquaman that we would be proud of. Would Aquaman be a character that you would play in the game?

Injustice: Gods Among Us will be released on April 16th, 2013 in North America and April 19th, 2013 in Europe. It will be available for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii U.
