Apple’s October 22nd event is a go, new iPads expected

Apple has sent out press invites for an event on October 22nd. The tagline “We still have a lot to cover” suggests we’ll see more than just new iPads get announced.

The event will be held in San Francisco, and as previous rumors have indicated, we can expect Apple to officially announce the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2. There is a possibility we might see new MacBook Pros as well, along with the announcement of the rollout of OS X 10.9 Mavericks, though the iPads are likely to be at the center of the spotlight for the entire event.

Both the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 are expected to get major upgrades, though the latter might miss out on a Retina display if recent speculations turns out to be true. Apple will be bringing the two tablets closer to each other in terms of design, and at least the iPad 5 is slated to be getting the Touch ID fingerprint sensor like the iPhone 5s.

Any guesses on what Apple will announce at the event along with the new iPads?
