On expected lines, Apple has refreshed its 12-inch MacBook with updated processors, better battery life, faster storage, and a new Rose Gold color option.
The thinnest and lightest Mac now comes with the 6th Gen Intel Skylake dual-core Core M processors up to 1.3GHz, with Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz. The memory is now clocked at 1866MHz, a slight improvement over last year’s model. The new integrated HD Graphics 515 is claimed to deliver up to 25 percent improved graphics performance. Apple is also using faster PCIe-based flash storage, which should also help make the new MacBook feel faster while doing everyday tasks.Battery life hasn’t been ignored thankfully. Apple is saying the MacBook now delivers up to 10 hours of wireless web browsing and up to 11 hours of iTunes movie playback.
The updated MacBook is now available through the Apple website, Apple retail stores, and select Apple authorized resellers. The base config with a 1.1GHz dual-core Intel Core m3 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB flash storage will cost you $1,299. If you decide to get a higher-end model with a 1.2GHz dual-core Core m5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 512GB of flash storage, you will need to shell out $1,599. Configure-to-order options include a 1.3GHz Intel Core m7 processor.
