The streaming wars are in full swing as Apple launches its TV+ subscription programme here in Singapore at a price of SGD 6.98 per month. This is compared to Netflix that starts at SGD 10.99 for the standard plan. Other upcoming platforms yet-to-be-launched in Singapore like Disney and Hulu will also compete with the service.

Other programmes include Dickinson, in which Hailee Steinfeld is star and executive producer. Kids and family programmes Helpsters, Snoopy in Space, and Ghostwriter are also available at launch, along with documentary film The Elephant Queen and the first instalment of Oprah Winfrey’s Oprah’s Book Club.

Most excitingly, a free year of Apple TV+ subscription can be redeemed for Apple customers who have purchased an iPad, iPhone, Mac or Apple TV. Apple Music Student Plan users are also eligible to redeem a year of Apple TV+
Available across Apple’s platforms, Apple TV+ will also be compatible with select Samsung smart TVs and Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices. LG, Samsung and and Visio TVs with AirPlay 2 can also play content casted from the Apple TV app on iPhone. A dedicated Apple TV+ app will be coming to LG, Sony and Visio TV platforms in the future,
