After a disappointing start in the Indian market, Apple has finally decided that it needs to be more aggressive with the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus pricing in the country.
The iPhone 6s 16GB was launched for Rs.62000 in October but is now available from most major online retailers for a much lower Rs.48,499 ($732). Similarly, the 64GB version can now be bought for Rs.62,849 ($948), down from the launch price of Rs.72,000. The 128GB version has seen a pretty steep price cut as well and is now available for Rs.74,940 ($1131).
The bigger iPhone 6s Plus can be bought for Rs.61,999 ($935) if you choose the 16GB version. For the 64GB version you will now have to shell out Rs.75,499 ($1139), while the 128GB version is available for Rs.85,999 ($1297). The phablet was initially launched at Rs.72,000, Rs.82,000, and Rs.92,000 for the 16, 64, and 128GB versions respectively. The launch prices for both the new iPhones were higher than any other country, which did harm Apple as the duo received a lukewarm reception from the Indian consumers. With the new price cut, Apple can certainly hope for some better sales numbers in the coming months.
