Apple prepping iOS software tweaks for 12-inch iPad Pro

Recently a report claimed that the 12-inch iPad Pro model will not be arriving this year. While it is still not confirmed if the tablet will show up this year or next year, 9To5Mac today published a report that reveals a few new details about the iPad Pro, as well as the next iOS version.

According to the report, Apple is working two 12-inch iPad models, codenamed “J98” and “J99”. One of them is a Wi-Fi only model while the other is a Wi-Fi + Cellular model. Apple is allegedly making a number of software tweaks for the 12-inch iPad models, including multi-user support, split-screen multitasking, and more.

While the multi-user support will arrive later, Apple will reportedly debut the split-screen multitasking feature at the WWDC event next month. For now this feature is said to be exclusive to select iPad models, so don’t expect the feature to show up on your iPhone 6 Plus just yet.

Apart from new features, Apple is also trying to redesign some of the core apps and features such as Siri and Notification Center, so they can better utilize the additional screen real estate.
