Apple may not launch an iPad Air 3 this year, claims report

A new report published by Taiwanese publication Digitimes claims that Apple will not be releasing an iPad Air 2 successor this year.

Earlier reports have indicated that Apple is going to release new iPad models at the iPhone 6s launch even expected on September 9th. However, if the Digitimes report is accurate, we may only see the iPad mini 4 get unveiled. This is actually the second time in the last one month that we are hearing Apple may not launch the iPad Air 3 this year.

Although some sources such as the Japanese blog Mac Otakara have suggested that Apple could unveil an Apple A9-powered iPad Air 3 this year, we haven’t really seen many rumors or leaks related to the model. On the other hand, the iPad Mini 4 has been leaked quite extensively. Only recently we saw CAD renders of the iPad mini 4 revealing an iPad Air 2-like 6.1mm thin profile.
