KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kui claims the 4-inch iPhone 7c model will enter mass production in the first half of next year and could be made official alongside the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models.
The device itself will reportedly feature a metal unibody instead of polycarbonate on the 5c, and will be powered by the Apple A9 SoC that powers the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. That means the iPhone 7c will be a generation behind its 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch siblings.
Further differentiating the iPhone 7c will be its lack of 3D Touch. Apple will be marketing the device as a budget alternative to the larger models, for individuals who prefer the smaller form-factor. Ming-Chi Kuo suggests a total of 20-30 million units of the iPhone 7c will be manufactured, by Foxconn.
