Hiring has begun for Apple’s R&D center in Taipei.

In late August VR-Zone reported that the company started headhunting in Taiwan, inviting engineers and software developers to connect on Linkedin.

Now the interview process has started.

Interviews are being done with staff from Apple’s Singapore office. It’s believed that staff from Singapore will be in Taipei on November 5 to do sets of interviews.

Apple is currently recruiting the following positions in Taiwan: Hardware Development Engineers (areas of expertise: audio, camera, sensors, power, analog, touch, RF, antenna, battery), Panel Process & Optics Engineers, Product Development Engineers, Product Development Engineer, Mechanical Engineers – Product Displays, Materials Technical Program Managers, Test Engineers, Software QA, Reliability Engineers, Product Safety Engineer – PD, Firmware Engineers, Engineering Program Managers.

In August Apple said that the new team in Taipei will be working on the next iPhone.

Having a R&D center in Taiwan will be a competitive advantage for Apple, since salaries are much lower compared to the United States.
