Angry Birds GO! replaces bird flinging with go-kart racing, releasing in December

Bored of all the bird flinging and pig slaughtering in Rovio’s countless Angry Birds games? If your answer to that question is a resounding yes, then Angry Birds GO! might just be what you’ve unknowingly been waiting for.

As expected, Angry Birds GO! is a Mario Kart-esque game that will involve a race to the finish line between different characters from the Angry Birds franchise. According to Rovio, the game features “high-octane downhill racing, upgradable karts, tons of characters with unique special powers and a fully rendered 3D world.”

A look at the official trailer seems to suggest that Rovio isn’t exaggerating when it mentions “high-octane racing,” as the gameplay looks decidedly fast-paced. The game seems to feature a lot of special powers, tons of racers, power-ups, and customizable karts, which means we might not be uninstalling this one after a few minutes of playing, something that’s rather common when it comes to the standard Angry Birds games.

Angry Birds GO! will officially arrive on December 11 for free, on Android, iOS, Windows Phone 8, and BlackBerry 10. Hit that giant play button past the break to take a look at the gameplay trailer.
