Electronic industry analyst Pan Jiutang claims Xiaomi could launch its next flagship device the Mi 5 as soon as December this year.

The analyst had earlier predicted that the Xiaomi Mi 5 could be one of the first Snapdragon 820 powered smartphones in the market, releasing around March next year. While the analyst has now revised his prediction, it still depends on whether or not Qualcomm will be able to produce enough Snapdragon 820 chips by December for Xiaomi.

Meanwhile, leakster @Leaksfly has come up with some new rumored specs for the device. It is claimed that the Mi 5 will sport a 5.2-inch sized display with 1080p resolution. Under the hood, will be Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 820 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM. Other key specs include 16/32GB internal memory options, 16MP rear camera, 8MP selfie camera, fingerprint scanner, and a USB Type-C port. The device will boot Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box.
