AMD launches a new stock CPU cooler

AMD has released its Wraith CPU reference cooler, which aims to be cooler and quieter than the vendor’s current stock cooler. The cooler retains a similar design, featuring a top-flow aluminium fin-stack cooler with a heatsink and an LED-backlit AMD logo on the shroud.

The new cooler is aimed to mitigate issues noticed in AMD’s 95W-125W CPUs and APUs. The vendor won’t be bundling it in the 220W FX 9000 series, as those CPUs work off of a liquid-cooled solution. It is likely AMD will bundle the cooler with its premium CPUs that require 125W or lower.
