AMD debuts new A8-7670K desktop APU based on ‘Godavari’


AMD today announced the availability of its new A8-7670K APU based on the 28nm ‘Godavari’ platform.

The budget oriented A8-7670K features a quad-core x86-64 ‘Excavator’ micro-architecture based CPU and a Radeon R7 series integrated graphics with six Graphics CoreNext 1.2 compute units. It also includes dual-channel DDR3 integrated memory controller, native DDR3-2133 MHz memory support, and PCI-Express gen 3.0 root complex.

The APU features a base CPU clock speed of 3.60 GHz and maximum TurboCore frequency of 3.90 GHz. It comes with unlocked base-clock multipliers, letting users overclock it to extrack higher performance. The integrated graphics has been clocked at 757 MHz and supports DirectX12 and offers dual-graphics support.

The AMD A8-7670K APU is now available for purchase in the US and has been priced at $117.99.
