AMD announces PRO A-Series APUs targeted at business notebooks and PCs

AMD has introduced its most powerful PRO A-Series mobile and desktop processors today, targeted at business users and IT decision makers.

The AMD PRO A-series mobile processors are based on the company’s Carrizo architecture and deliver long battery life, power, and efficiency optimized to cater to the needs of enterprise computing. Part of the range will the AMD PRO A12 processors, the fastest PRO notebook processor from AMD with a 3.4GHz max frequency and 12 compute cores (4 CPU + 8 GPU).It is also the only AMD PRO mobile processor to come with Radeon R7 graphics with 800MHz GPU max clock and 512 stream processors. The entire AMD PRO mobile processor lineup comes with Heterogeneous Systems Architecture (HAS) 1.0 specification, AMD TrustZone capability with a dedicated AMD Secure Processor, and a HEVC decoder for streaming HD and Ultra HD content.

The AMD PRO A-series desktop processors offer an aggressive price with enhanced performance, and socket compatibility for easier upgrades in future. The entire range comes with AMD Radeon graphics and AMD Quick Stream PRO support to eliminate lag in latency-sensitive applications such as VoIP and streaming video.

Products powered by the new AMD Pro A-Series processors will be available starting today from leading manufacturers such as HP and Lenovo.
