Previously blanketed under the (semi-)secrecy of Project Aero, Adobe Aero has been announced as a free mobile app for iOS and iPadOS platforms. Built to allow designers to build, animate and share AR experiences without any need for prior coding knowledge.
With a private beta launched at Adobe Max 2018, the company had also initiated the Adobe AR Residency program. This roped in artists to work on their most ambitious personal projects while providing feedback directly to the product team, refining Adobe Aero.

The result is a user-oriented interface and mission-oriented features, churning out an AR experience with step-by-step instructions on the visual UI – all without any coding involved.
This is achieved with a combination of intuitive hand and device controls to place elements into an AR scene, controlling and shaping animation paths the same way. Triggers can be added to encourage viewer participation, and add to the overall immersion of the experience.
Out of the box, Adobe Aero packs hundreds of free starter assets, while maintaining compatibility for a wide range of 2D and 3D file formats including vector graphics, Adobe Photoshop files, OBJ, FBX, Collada, glTF, amongst others.
Apart from designing AR components for blockbuster apps, Aero also enables easy sharing between Aero app users or directly on social media.
This AI based technology is for free! I can’t believe it. Aero is awesome.
This is just awesome technology to use.
