10 Things You Didn’t Know about Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai

  1. Pichai likes to think and walk. It’s common for him to walk out of a meeting abruptly and return with a solution in hand.
  2. Sundar Pichai was born in Tamil Nadu, India, 1972. His full name is Pichai Sundararajan. Despite his humble background, he’s now worth a reported $150 million.
  3. Sundar Pichai’s father was an electrical engineer. To buy the family a brand new scooter, his father saved for 3 years to afford it. Even despite his poor background, the family made sure Sundar and his brother has the best education they could pay for.
  4. Before graduating from the Indian Institute of Technology, Pichai captained his high school cricket team. He then went on to get his from Stanford, subsequently earning an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
  5. Sunday Pichai’s father took out a large sum of money, more than his salary in a year to fly to America when Pichai won his scholarship in Stanford.
  6. Pichai has insane numerical recall. He is able to memorise every single phone number he dials.
  7. Pichai’s capability become renowned in the industry and in 2011, he was considered to lead product and to take over Jason Goldman at Twitter, however he remained with Google.
  8. It was reported by Business Insider that Pichai was very skilful when it came to staying out of drama and politics when working at Google.
  9. It was reported that Google tried to keep Pichai with the company for $50 million in stocks when he was being poached by Microsoft.
  10. Pichai is married to his sweetheart Anja like whom he dated back from his days since he was in India and she has now moved with him to America. He fathers two children now.
