ZOTAC kicks off Cup Masters DOTA 2 competition

Zotac, the popular PC hardware manufacturer are running a huge DOTA 2 eSports competition with a cool $100,000 USD prize pool to be awarded during the grand final to be played at Computex, Taipei starting May 30th.


The Asia region qualifiers kick off on March 19th, so if you fancy yourself at DOTA, it’s not too late to sign up.  Players from around the world will compete in 6 regional qualifiers from March till May, and the ultimate winner from each regional qualifier will be flown to Taiwan to compete in the Computex finals along with 2 invitational teams. A 6-digit prize pool is what the players are playing for, and the entire finals will be broadcast via the ZOTAC Cup Twitch channel to an expected huge audience.

The global reach of eSports continues to expand. According to a report by analyst group Superdata, the global eSports market approached $900M in revenue in 2016, with $328M in Asia alone. We’re also seeing competitive gaming reach beyond online streaming platforms such as Twitch to traditional media platforms such as ESPN.
