[email protected] Showcases Automatic Login Capabilities at Tech Saturday

Laptop and tablet users may now rejoice. If you’re an avid user of [email protected], you can now log into the free WiFi system automatically once you set up a one-time login setting.

It was announced yesterday on Saturday, at the Tech Saturday 2-Day Fair, which kicks off Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority’s Smart Nation Innovation Week. This event sought to highlight local products and opportunities to show how much the tech and media fields have helped  improve Singapore’s digital economy transformation.

Despite Singapore’s fervent push in this sector, PM Lee Hsien Loong remains of the stance that “we are really not going as fast as we ought to”.

This process has been streamlined such that users only need to key in their mobile numbers once to receive a One-Time Password, following which, they will be automatically connected to the internet.

Tan Kiat How, IMDA’s Chief Executive believes that:

A digital economy needs pervasive connectivity that’s fast, reliable and secure, and [email protected] is one of the projects that will help IMDA realise this vision.

It is estimated that this project will benefit around 180,000 users.
