VR Zone quick hands-on with the EOS-1D Mark IV DSLR camera

Canon EOS-1D Mark IV

Today, Canon announced their new EOS-1D Mark IV digital SLR camera designed for photojournalists, sports and events photographers. In Singapore, the manufacturer held an event and treated the local media a hands-on of the new product.

Here we have the EOS-1D Mark IV

The label below the lens states “Mark IV”.

The showcased camera isn’t a finished retail product yet, which explains the “Sample” sticker at the top. If you looked closely at the LCD display, the ISO is set to 12800.

The various connectors are on the left of the camera.

Opening up the cover revealed the HDMI, AV, microphone, N3 type wired remote control and PC Sync flash terminal connectors.

The Canon digital SLR accepts both SD and CF cards.

In the menu, you can select image sizes, RAW or JPEG formats, save the images to CF or SD or auto switch.

The burst mode is very fast, with amazing shutter sound. You have to try it out to feel its performance. Of course, we also like the overall sturdy build. No pricing details is out yet, but we are led to believe that it could be below the S$10k mark.
