Looking for a new VR-Ready PC that isn’t too big? The new VivoPC X from Asus definitely deserves your attention then. The compact desktop packs powerful internals, making it fully compatible with all the latest VR headsets on the market. Asus had announced the PC earlier this year but has started rolling it out globally only now.
The Asus VivoPC X features a small and light 5-liter chassis that can easily be carried around or placed anywhere you like. Despite the small build, the PC does not lack in terms of connectivity or performance. It includes four USB 3.1 Gen 1 and two USB 2.0 ports that can be used to connect VR peripherals and controllers. The VivoPC X runs on a 7th Gen Intel Core i5 processor and packs NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1060 graphics. You also get 8GB of 2133 MHz DDR4 memory, 1TB SATA hard disk drive, and an optional M.2 SSD as well.
In the US, Asus has partnered with Oculus and NVIDIA to sell Oculus Right + Touch and Asus VivoPC X bundles at a discounted price. The bundle also include 4 free VR titles : Insomniac Games’ The Unspoken, Superhot VR, Twisted Pixel’s Wilson’s Heart, and Oculus’ VR Sports Challenge. The VivoPC X alone has been priced at $799 (SGD 1,117) in the US and is now on sale at all the major electronics retailers.
The Asus VivoPC X is listed on the company’s Singapore website currently, so you can expect it go on sale here very soon.
