Some time back in September, VLC was successfully ported over to Apple’s iPad. And now, the latest update brings support for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and the recent iPod touches.

Apart from supporting new Apple devices, the latest 1.1.0 release recognizes ‘many more extensions’.

Assembly optimzations have made decoding a lot faster in the new version. Also, you can open attachments from other applications including MMS and RSTP streams and delete files directly from VLC without going through iTunes.

VLC media player 1.1.0 is available for download right here from the App Store.
