Viewsonic launches ViewPad 7 and ViewPad 10 in Singapore

30 November 2010, Singapore – ViewSonic today launched the ViewPad 7 and ViewPad 10 – the latest generation of communications tablets incorporating full mobile phone functionality, computer and gaming capabilities. At 1.15cm in thickness, the ViewPad 7 device claims to be the world’s slimmest, multi-touch, all-in-one tablet.

Designed to meet the work, lifestyle and entertainment needs of today’s sophisticated consumers, the ViewPad 7 and ViewPad 10 integrate unique and innovative functions, and consolidate a multitude of individual electronic devices into one. Users can surf the Internet, take and share photos, play games, listen to music, and connect with friends via the ViewPad tablet.

Smart Innovation
Measuring 17.9cm x 11cm in size (7-inch screen) and weighing 375g, by inserting a SIM card into the ViewPad and you can enjoy full 3G phone functions. It boasts a slimmer body compared to other netbook devices, making it highly portable for work and travel. For the working professionals, ViewPad 7’s 3.5G HSDPA/HSUPA service, extensive Office support and Google Android 2.2 OS enable greater mobility. Users can browse the web, check emails, and have access to thousands of apps available at Android Market™ on-the-go. Its lightweight feature also makes the ViewPad 7 a perfect travelling e-book owing to the integrated Aldiko software. The device’s multi-touch screen and auto rotation features enrich the reading experience, and further supports MS office documents with the  preloaded Documents-To-Go.
Enhanced Visual and Audio Experience
With their dedicated graphic chipsets, high-quality interface and built-in dual stereo speakers, ViewPad 7 offers the ultimate mobile viewing environment for Youtube videos, blockbuster movies or home-made clips. The device is equipped with dual webcams, 3-megapixel image quality and auto-focus lens, on both sides of the device, allowing flexibility to capture important life moments. The ViewPad 7 can also receive commands through voice recognition. Users can activate voice search to locate email addresses, software, documents and web pages quickly and precisely. For travelers, the built-in GPS/AGPS, Google Maps help you to find the best way to any destination and the nearest points-of-interest.

Dual Operating Systems
As for the ViewPad 10, the 10-inch tablet is powered with Intel 1.66GHz processor, and comes with an integrated memory of 1GB and 16GB SSD HDD storage space. Equipped with dual operating systems (OS), users can opt for the innovative Google Android OS for browsing and simple application or the familiar Windows 7 OS for VPN, Outlook and other high-end requirements. This high-performance but lightweight and stylish model offers the full PC experience when required. Its low battery consumption feature also boosts mobility and efficiency.

ViewPad 7 retails at S$829 and the ViewPad 10 at S$929 (GST inclusive). Both models will be available at leading retail stores in Singapore before Christmas 2010.
