Verizon website reveals Nokia Lumia Icon with specs and price

The Nokia Lumia Icon, known in the rumor mills as the Lumia 929, has been confirmed through an accidental listing on Verizon’s website.

Rumors have pointed at a February launch for the Lumia Icon, and its appearance on Verizon’s website, however brief, suggests that an official announcement could me made within weeks, if not days. The Lumia Icon is basically a smaller version of the Lumia 1520, with a 5-inch 1080p display and the same 20-megapixel PureView camera as the 1520; other specs seen in Verizon’s listing include a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, and a 2420 mAh battery with support for wireless charging.

The price of the Lumia Icon is listed as $777 (with or without contract, an error that will likely be rectified when the final version of the phone’s listing goes public.) At the moment, it’s unknown if the Lumia Icon will remain a Verizon exclusive or if it will come to other markets and carriers (possibly under a different name); hopefully it will, as it could offer a good alternative for those looking for a 1080p Windows Phone handset without the gargantuan dimensions of the Lumia 1520, at least until we wait for Nokia to come up with newer 1080p and Snapdragon 800-powered handsets.
