TP-Link @ Computex 2011: Networking for consumers

Believe it or not, but Hall 1 of the Taipei World Trade Center or TWTC is usually a haven for seeking out network communication devices. As such, it should be no surprise that TP-Link has decided to set up its booth at this particular hall to showcase its latest wireless networking products. Let's take a look at what new devices TP-Link has in store for consumers in Computex this year…

The first product we were introduced to at TP-Link's booth was the TL-WR2483ND, if only because it was large enough to grab the attention of anybody who passes through the company's booth. Don't worry though; the real deal utilizes a much more conventional form factor.

According to TP-Link, the TL-WR2483ND is a consumer-grade router which is capable of attaining data transfer speeds of up to 450Mbps under the 5GHz band, a feat which is achieved by making use of three MIMO antennas to multiplex multiple independent data streams and transfer them within one spectral channel of bandwidth, as shown below:
