SINGAPORE, 10 December 2009 – Toshiba’s Computer Systems Division (CSD), a division of Toshiba Singapore Pte Ltd, has unveiled its new mobile gaming machine, the Qosmio X500. Targeted at gaming and movie enthusiasts, it offers high-performance processing power combined with the latest graphics capabilities for an exceptional gaming experience, all wrapped up in a fashionable Glossy Black with Oriental Red Rims design. With its large 18.4-inch screen size, a Blu-Ray Disc™ rewritable drive, and Toshiba’s video upscaling application, Resolution+, the new Qosmio X500 provides amazing gaming and multimedia performance.

Power-packed Gaming
The Qosmio X500 series features the new Intel® Core™ i7 processor, Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit, DDR3 memory, dual 320GB hard-drives (7200rpm), as well as NVIDIA® GeForce® GTS 250M graphics with 1GB of GDDR5 VRAM.

For hi-def lovers, the Qosmio X500 Series comes with an integrated Blu-ray® disc rewritable drive, so movie fanatics can enjoy their favorite movies right from the Notebook PC’s stunning, high-definition 18.4-inch diagonal widescreen display. A premium sound system featuring built-in Harman Kardon speakers, Dolby® Home Theater audio and an integrated HDMI-CEC port amplifies the entertainment experience, while adding the flexibility to extend the Notebook PC’s playback capabilities to HDTVs and home theaters.

Usability and ease-of-use
Each aspect of the Qosmio X500 is designed with usability in mind. Sporting a new premium design, the Qosmio X500 Series features Toshiba’s striking Fusion Finish in Glossy Black with Oriental Red rims, a comfortable full keyboard with LED Backlighting and numeric 10-key pad. An intuitive touchpad with multi-touch control enables greater flexibility to browse and control what’s happening on-screen with gesture-commands, such as two-finger pinch, swipe, rotate and scroll.

For quick and convenient login the Qosmio X500 comes with a fingerprint reader and Face Recognition. The Toshiba ConfigFree™ utility facilitates wireless network configuration and online access via the embedded WLAN interface or via Bluetooth. The eight red-colored feather touch buttons offer instant access to frequently used multimedia features such as volume control, fast forward, play, and stop.

The Qosmio X500 includes unique applications designed to increase personal productivity in a unique way:
• Toshiba Bulletin Board™—Gives users fast access to day-to-day activities, tasks and projects in a simple and visual way. Bulletin Board makes organizing disparately stored files easier with the ability to drag and drop links, documents, photos, videos and applications into one place. Customize and organize the board by moving, rotating and resizing using gestures to fit personalized style. Bulletin Board also includes several built-in gadgets such as labels, calendars, a clock and a to-do list.
• Toshiba ReelTime™—Helps users easily and quickly find files based on when they were opened with a simple visual history. With the flick of a finger, quickly scroll through automatically generated previews of documents, spreadsheets, presentations and more, filter by file type or use the calendar to go back weeks or months.

All Toshiba Notebook PCs are backed by Toshiba’s extensive service and support. The new Qosmio X500 come standard with a 1-year carry-in International Limited Warranty (parts & labor), 1-year battery (carry-in).
