The caped crusader thwarts villainy in the new gameplay trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins

There were a lot of games shown during Sony’s unprecedented E3 Press Conference that complimented the Japanese gaming giant’s impressive arsenal of next-gen news, and among them was the first gameplay footage of the Caped Crusader’s newest adventure–Batman: Arkham Origins.

The newly released trailer showcases actual in-game footage for the Dark Knight’s upcoming release, painting a a new story arc that encompasses Bruce Wayne’s early years while keeping the game’s signature mechanics and stylish flair.

Batman: Arkham Origins marks the third title in the Arkham saga, and looks to be quite impressive and borrow from the previous releases in terms of overall beat-em-up gameplay and progressive RPG elements.

In the trailer, we see “Bats” battle a variety of nefarious foes, concluding that such infamous baddies as Deathstroke and Black Mask will be joining the foray. Oh and what Batman game would be complete without the Clown Prince of Crime?

Batman: Arkham Origins is currently scheduled to release on Oct 25, 2013 for Xbox 360 PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC. For more information please visit the game’s official website.
