Sprint begins seeding the Android Marshmallow update for Samsung Galaxy S6

Sprint Galaxy S6

Sprint today started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Samsung Galaxy S6. The carrier is the first among all major US carriers to begin seeding the update for the 2015 Samsung Galaxy flagship.

The Android 6.0.1 update for the Sprint Galaxy S6 carries the build number G920PVPU3CPB6, which is exactly the same as the update that is rolling out for the unlocked Galaxy S6. It includes a number of new stuff such as Google Now on Tap, “Doze” battery enhancement, revamped permissions, an updated TouchWiz UI, as well as a new vibrating pattern when you receive calls or messages on your device.

The OTA update is unsurprisingly quite hefty at almost 1.3GB, so it is highly recommended that you connect to a Wi-Fi network before you start downloading it. Since the carrier has just started the update rollout process today, you may need to wait a few days before you receive the OTA update notification.
