After the recent User Agent Profile leak, a new report out of China is claiming that Sony is going to bring the 4K X-Reality image processing engine to the upcoming Xperia Z5 Plus smartphone.
According to a report from Chinese website Digi-wo, the upcoming Sony Xperia Z5 (S70) and the Xperia Z5 Compact (S60) will feature X-Reality image processing like previous Xperia flagships while the Xperia Z5 Plus (S70+) will get the 4K X-Reality image processing engine.
Apart from 4K X-Reality, the slides posted along with the report suggest the Xperia Z5 Plus will also be getting a few other Sony display technologies such as Triluminos and Precision Color Rendering Technology. While Triluminos has been used on Xperia devices earlier, we haven’t seen Sony use the Precision Color Rendering Technology before.
While this new report does add further credence to rumors of a 4K display on the Xperia Z5 Plus, we still suggest you take the info with a pinch or two of salt and wait patiently for the Sony IFA press conference on September 2nd.
