Skype launches Skype for Mac (Mac 5 Gold)

Skype has announced the Skype for Mac (Mac 5 Gold), which is no longer a beta. According to the company, the group video calling is part of the premium package and will also include live chat customer support.

Mac users rejoice. Skype for Mac is no longer a beta and that the window is made more compact while still allowing you to see more of your contacts. You can even resize it further to the minimum windows size so that you can park it to the side of your display if you want. Messages are also tweaked to allow you to see more of the conversation without the need to scroll.

The group video calling feature is part of the Premium package and includes live chat customer support. It is free for new users to try seven days, and after that, purchase starts at US$4.99 (€3.49/£2.99) for a day pass or US$8.99 (€5.99/£4.99) a month for monthly subscription.
