Silicon Power today unveiled its new M10 M.2 2280 and M10 mSATA SSD models aimed at delivering high performance and reliability at affordable prices.
The M10 M.2 2280 solid state drive can be used on a wide range of devices with an M.2 slot such as next-gen desktops, Ultrabooks, and Intel 87/97 series motherboards. Silicon Power hasn’t specificed the exact controller it is using, with the press release only referring to a ‘high-quality controller’. The MLC NAND M10 M.2 2280 drive offers maximum read and write speeds of 520 MB/s and 330 MB/s respectively. 4K random read and write speed is claimed to be around 40,000 IOPS in the CDM test.
The mSATA SP M10 SSD is similar to the M10 M.2 2280 in terms of performance, offering nearly identical read/write and 4K random read/write speeds. Both the drives come with Intel Smart Response Technology (ISRT), TRIM, NCQ, and S.M.A.R.T commands. The drives will be offered in 120GB, 240GB, and 480GB capacities and will be backed by a 3-year warranty.
