Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9800 XT Review

The Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9800 XT from first glance looks very
different than the stock version of the Radeon 9800 Pro due primarily to the
heatsink fan used by the card. Much larger than the 9800 Pro’s, the 9800 XT’s
heatsink hides most of the card’s PCB and looks very unique.

As we turn the card around, you can see the copper
heat spreader
helping to keep the highly clocked memory of the card cool.

We can see that the Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9800 XT uses the
standard VGA, S-Video, and DVI ports.

The Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9800 XT uses a PCB that is very similar
to the Radeon 9800 Pro’s in that on the back end of the card we see a 4 pin
Molex power connector to provide extra juice to the card and the PCB is
roughly the same size. However, with the addition of the very unique and
effective heatsink fan employed by the card, it definitely stands out on its own
and looks very impressive.
