Samsung might have revealed Android N’s version number

Samsung might have revealed Android N's version number

Google took everyone by surprising by releasing a preview of the next major Android update before its Google I/O developers conference, where it usually reveals new Android versions ever year. What dessert name Android N will end up getting remains to be seen, but it looks like Samsung may have jumped the gun and revealed Android N’s version number.

According to Samsung’s new SDK for its MultiWindow feature, Android N will be version 7.0, which doesn’t exactly come as a huge surprise. Android N brings various new features to the OS, and with even Marshmallow getting a major bump in version number despite bringing mostly under the hood changes, 7.0 might just be the best way to go with this year’s Android update. Of course, we will have to wait until the second half of the year before we find out what the N stands for, once Google’s Nexus devices get the official update.
