Leaked photos of the device had confirmed that a Galaxy S7 Active is in the works, along with an accidental confirmation by Samsung itself in one of its apps’ changelog. While it was expected that the Active variant would feature the same specs as the regular Galaxy S7, a benchmark listing has confirmed that the device will actually be a rugged variant of the Galaxy S7 edge, as far as the screen size is concerned.
The Galaxy S7 Active has a 5.5-inch display but without the curves seen on the S7 edge. Other specs are unchanged from the Galaxy S7 – there’s a Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB of RAM, 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras, 32GB of internal storage, Quad HD display resolution, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. As the images had revealed, the Galaxy S7 Active will get a hardened polycarbonate body and will feature a fingerprint sensor, which was missing on the Galaxy S5 Active and Galaxy S6 Active.
